I've been watching this game since I've heard about it in February. When I heard the figs were going to be 40mm instead of 25-30mm (and would be too big for me to use with my other minis running D&D) I lost interest. This past month I checked in on it out of curiousity and read some of the rules preview articles on their website and I find the system pretty intriguing.
In particular I like the "Clock" initiative system, where each Ubase has a dial that goes from 1-10 and back around again. Each turn that your character takes will use 1 or more "ticks" of time based on what actions they are peforming. The Clock goes from 1-10 and initiative is resolved on each "tick" of the clock for everyone who's base clock matches that tick. For instance it's tick 1 and both side's figures are going. Player A casts a summoning spell that takes 4 ticks, so they advance their base clock from 1 to 5 (1+4=5) and their turn is up. Player B just moves 2 spaces and doesn't perform any other actions so they advance their clock to 2 (performing no actions still takes 1 tick). Now it's tick 2 on the iniative clock. Player A doesn't go again until tick 5 but Player B can go again and so moves 2 more spaces and then casts a fireblast spell that takes 3 ticks (advancing their clock to 5). Once that's resolve the game moves on to ticks 3 and 4 (during which time nobody goes) and then tick 5 where both players will go again. I think this initiative system adds a great tactical element to gameplay.
The other nice thing is that for most events (and currently all "official" events) your force will consist of 3 characters. The figs are fairly expensive (Booster pack of 3 figs costs $15) but since every booster pack will contain 3 figs of the same faction I don't think it will take that many to put together a decent force.
They currently have the Quickstart rules and the character and action bar cards from the Starter Set availble as downloads so you can play a "demo" of the game. You can download the demo here to check it out:

I plan to pick up a starter and some boosters and give the game a good shakedown when it comes out. Anyone else interested in playing it once it's out?
